Brian Giessler, M.B.A, M.L.S.
Brian Giessler joined the Johns Hopkins Health System in 2019 as vice president and chief administrative officer for the ambulatory surgery centers.
Since 1999, Giessler has worked in various aspects of health care management, including financial management, operations and administration. At Johns Hopkins, he serves as administrative leader for the surgery centers and is their liaison to the health system. He oversaw the merger of all six surgery centers into one legal entity, and led the startup of the centers’ new services, including the ambulatory total joint program, spine surgery program and ambulatory cardiology procedures.
Before joining Johns Hopkins, Giessler was the senior vice president of operations and business services for Sovereign Healthcare in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he oversaw the financial and operational functions of 19 surgery centers and four anesthesia groups. He was a business analyst and surgical centers business manager at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, and a labor and senior financial analyst at Caritas Christi Health Care System in Boston, Massachusetts.
Giessler holds a master’s degree in business administration and a Master of Legal Studies in health care and compliance and transaction law.A United States Marine Corps infantry Iraq combat veteran, Giessler remains active in the veteran community, working with veteran nonprofit organizations focused on advancing veteran careers post-service.
