Contraception Research

As a member of the National Institutes of Health’s Contraceptive Clinical Trials Network, Johns Hopkins is engaged in research to expand contraception options for women. Anne Burke has been the site principal investigator for several clinical trials and the co-investigator for other contraceptive studies, including a study that examines the effects of hormonal birth control on the vaginal flora. She is also evaluating oral contraceptive use in women having bariatric surgery.
