Peterson Re-elected MHA Officer

Ronald Peterson, president of The Johns Hopkins Health System and The Johns Hopkins Hospital, was re-elected vice chair of the Maryland Hospital Association’s (MHA) Board at the association’s annual meeting on June 14.  Peterson’s term of office began July 1. 

Peterson previously held the positions of CEO councillor-at-large and treasurer of MHA’s Executive Committee.  He chairs the MHA Compensation Committee, is a member of the Budget and Pension Committees, was a member of MHA’s Special Strategic Planning Committee, as well as the Council of Integrated Health Care Delivery.

In addition to his role as president, Peterson is the executive vice president of Johns Hopkins Medicine, the alliance of the Johns Hopkins Health System and The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.  He also serves as chairman of Johns Hopkins Community Physicians, which provides ambulatory care to 17 centers throughout Maryland.  He formerly served as president of Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

Peterson is vice chair of the Governor’s Baltimore City Workforce Investment Board, and is on the boards of the National Committee for Quality Health Care, the United Way of Central Maryland, and the Maryland Mentoring Partnership.  He has served as chairman of the Baltimore Workforce Investment Board, board member for the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, and director of the Administrative Board of the Council of Teaching Hospitals.  He has also volunteered with the American Red Cross and the American Heart Association.
