Elizabeth is originally from Falougha, a peaceful village of Mount Lebanon, but grew up in the suburbs of Beirut. After graduating from medical school, she moved to Baltimore to pursue a two-year postdoctoral research fellowship at Johns Hopkins. Her research was focused on the screening and early detection of pancreatic cancer, which furthered her interest in a career in Oncology. Outside of medicine, Elizabeth is very passionate about music and will attend any concert she can, always in the company of her partner Ralph (an Osler co-intern). You can otherwise find her taking walks by the harbor, catching up with friends, petting dogs and exploring new bars and restaurants. Elizabeth is really looking forward to starting her journey in the Osler Residency Program, where she's particularly excited about the learning culture and collaborative atmosphere.

I was born in Atlanta and grew up in Kumasi, Ghana the first few years of my life before returning to Georgia. During my time in college, an early volunteer experience at Grady Memorial shifted my focus towards medicine. I was fortunate to partake in opportunities that fostered my interests in healthcare disparities including screening initiatives, public health projects at the CDC, and community clinics. Medical school gave me an outlet to continue pursuing these interests and I am fortunate to now bring them to Johns Hopkins. In my free time you can catch me playing pick-up soccer in Patterson Park or exploring all the amazing restaurants Baltimore has to offer.

Hilary was born in Accra, Ghana where she spent her early childhood before moving to the Washington, DC metropolitan area. She studied biophysics at Amherst College prior to attending medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. In medical school she explored her interests in cardiology, medical ethics (received a Master of Bioethics), health policy and patient advocacy. She enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, dancing, and trying new restaurants and museums. She is looking forward to serving the city’s vulnerable population, exploring Charm City, and forming meaningful bonds with her kind and brilliant co-residents.

Cam was born and raised in Chatham, N.J. He studied Economics and Medicine, Health, & Society at Vanderbilt University (Go 'Dores) and attended medical school at Thomas Jefferson University. He is interested in cardiology and has focused his medical research at Jefferson and Hopkins on cardiovascular intensive and preventative care. Cam is also passionate about health policy; he has conducted research on Medicaid and mental health care in addition to working with voting rights and policy groups in Philadelphia and Washington. Outside of work, he loves to camp, hike, and run. He's looking forward to discovering the best margaritas and ice cream in Charm City.

Khalifa was born in Ohio and spent his early childhood in the midwest before moving across the globe to the middle east. He spent high school moving back and forth between Qatar and Indiana before choosing to pursue medical school in Weill Cornell Medicine - Qatar. He enjoys diagnostic reasoning and medical education with a interest in cardiovascular medicine. When not in the hospital, Khalifa spends his time scoring hattricks on the soccer pitch, weight lifting, and exploring different food scenes.

Jack grew up in Princeton, New Jersey and did his undergrad at Pomona College, where he majored in Public Policy Analysis. He then spent a year working at a syringe exchange in Washington, D.C. before moving to New York where he attended medical school at Columbia University. He is a member of the Urban Health Primary Care track and is interested in a career in addiction medicine. Outside the hospital, you can likely find him getting ice cream at Bmore Licks and going for a walk in Patterson Park.

John attended the University of Virginia where he studied history and politics, then became interested in medicine towards the end of college. He is thrilled to be a member of the Osler Housestaff, and is excited to explore Baltimore with his wife, Gillean, a pediatrics intern at Hopkins!

Liam was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. He studied Biochemistry at Cornell University before moving to Syracuse, NY for his MD and PhD training in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at SUNY Upstate. As part of the Osler Physician Scientist Pathway, he is exploring novel molecular pathways by which mitochondria contribute to chronic pulmonary diseases. Liam is also a proud husband and father and loves spending time with his family going for walks at Patterson Park and enjoying everything Baltimore has to offer.

Wyn (he/him) grew up in Laurel, MS, and attended The George Washington University (GW) where he majored in International Affairs with a concentration in Global Public Health. While earning his MD at GW, Wyn became enamored with the impact of medicine at a systemic level and decided to pursue an MPH at Johns Hopkins. He and his wife, Laura, are thrilled to be in Baltimore and look forward to exploring the city’s vibrant culinary scene and to taking part in Charm City’s sports culture. Outside of medicine, you can find Wyn biking around the city, running along the harbor, losing to his wife in tennis, or recording his podcast, Health TechTalks, which he cohosts with Laura. Wyn is also fluent in Spanish and French and is always looking for an excuse to practice!

Matthew grew up in San Francisco and majored in Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis in Immunology at UC Berkeley. Matthew then went to Yale School of Medicine where he pursued his medical degree and PhD in Immunolobiology. His research interest include cell-based immunotherapy, systems immunology, and immunogenetics. In his free time, he and his wife like to bike around Baltimore City and explore the DMV area for new places to eat.

I am Nigerian! Lived there for a couple of years. I studied English in college and am interested in the humanities. I am really interested in promoting equitable healthcare in all healthcare settings. I am looking forward to working with this diverse community to make health more accessible. You might find me strolling through Patterson park or at a plant shop or in our local library!

Erik Faber, MD, PhD

Erik (he/him) grew up in a rural community outside of Rochester, NY before attending Dartmouth College, where he majored in biophysical chemistry and minored in English, developing a love for late Victorian literature. Afterwards, he was a high school science teacher in New York City before entering the MD/PhD program at the University of Minnesota Medical School. His PhD in medicinal chemistry focused on developing an allosteric kinase inhibitor for both cancer and male contraceptive indications. While in medical school, he fell in love with the subfield of GI oncology and hopes to explore this further as part of the Physician Scientist Pathway in the Osler residency. Outside of work, you can find Erik walking with his husband and their English bulldog, Conrad, in their quest to find the best ice cream in Baltimore.

Ruiyi Gao was born in Beijing, China and grew up in a suburb outside of Boston. She attended Yale University where she double majored in Economics and Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology. She then spent a research year in NYC before making her way further south to Baltimore. She received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and has enjoyed working with community organizations dedicated to improving access to healthcare locally in Baltimore. She is interested in gastroenterology, health systems and health economics. She is thrilled to be staying in Charm City for her residency training. Outside of the hospital, you can find her exploring all the DMV has to offer and can always offer a good itinerary for your day off.

I was born and raised in Milan, Italy. In 2018 I graduated from the University of Milan Medical School. Since then, I have been involved in the field of cardiology. My research interests lie in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiomyopathies (Sudden Cardiac Death, ARVC, Desmoplakin, ICDs). Prior to my intern year, completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, and a subsequent three-year ARVC fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University under the supervision of Dr. Hugh Calkins. Main interest outside of medicine are football, pasta making, and breweries.

Charbel grew up in Beirut, Lebanon, where he attended college and medical school. He was involved early on in community efforts aiming to prevent sudden cardiac death in Lebanese youth. During and after medical school, Charbel expanded on his interest in medical prevention by conducting clinical research on cardiovascular disease risk factors, with a special focus on biological pathways that mediate the effect of psychosocial stress on disease. Outside of medicine, Charbel loves to travel, garden, and explore Baltimore’s many homey cafes. You’ll probably find him walking along the Baltimore waterfront promenade or sipping coffee/a drink at Pitango’s!

Vrinda was born in Philly, soon moved to the Bay Area in California, and then spent a few years in Bangalore, India before returning to the east coast. She went to Emory University and majored in Biology and Global Health, where she developed an interest in refugee health while working with the IRC. She then moved up to DC to attend medical school at George Washington. Vrinda has been amazed by the more than generous teaching from her residents and faculty in the Osler Program and is excited to get to know the warm and brilliant people here. She enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants, and watching all kinds of TV shows and movies.

Rohan was raised in a small town in Southern Maryland with his twin brother and younger sister. He then moved up to the Bronx and completed medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he spent an additional year pursuing a research fellowship with an interventional cardiologist. In his free time he enjoys playing tennis, traveling, playing the viola, watching Bollywood movies, and spending time with family and friends. Rohan Kankaria

Suraj Kannan, MD, PhD

Born in India and somehow also an Australian citizen, Suraj spent most of grade school in Louisville, Kentucky. He went to medical school at Johns Hopkins, where he was a proud member of the Daniel Nathans college (3x college olympics champs). His PhD work focused on using stem cell-derived cardiac tissues for regenerative medicine and disease modeling applications. After having spent M3 and M4 marveling at the Osler residents in action up close, he is thrilled to join the ranks of the legendary tie/scarf-wearers! Suraj hopes to eventually pursue a career developing new therapies for heart failure and transplant. In his free time, Suraj enjoys checking out blues bars in Baltimore (Cat's Eye is a fave!), working on his deadlift at Cooley gym, and gently reminding everyone else why Barker is obviously the best firm (who let the dogs out?!?!).

Sreeja (she/her) grew up in New Jersey before pursuing her undergraduate studies in biochemistry/biophysics and medical school at Yale. In medical school, she was a lead organizer of RebPsych, a psychiatry and social justice conference, and participated in the Committee of Diversity, Inclusion, & Social Justice and Disability Studies Working Group. She finally ventures beyond the tristate area to Baltimore to pursue combined internal medicine and pediatrics training in the Urban Health program. Sreeja enjoys cooking, makeup, and watching cooking and makeup videos on YouTube. Sreeja is excited to explore and learn more about the history of Baltimore's distinct and diverse neighborhoods and to care for patients in East Baltimore.

Lexie grew up in Lake Orion, MI, and attended the University of Michigan, where she studied Biochemistry and attended medical school. During medical school, she served on the leadership board of the student-run free clinic, where she helped un/underinsured patients enroll in health insurance and financial assistance programs to receive reduced-cost specialty care. She went on to develop a love for cardiac physiology and clinical research focused on improving cardiac rehabilitation participation and equitable access to rehabilitative services. She chose the Osler medical residency for its excellent clinical training within a supportive, collegial environment. In her free time, she loves to run, spend time with family, and bake Greek desserts.

Lexie Mansour

Max grew up in Queens, New York and studied developmental biology at Harvard University. After graduating, she moved back to New York to work as a patient navigator at a syringe exchange in Brooklyn, before switching boroughs to attend Columbia Medical School in northern Manhattan. Since coming to Hopkins for residency, she has been excited to learn from her patients, co-residents, and attendings. She can be found running along the waterfront or getting Ekiben takeout as many nights a week as she can.

Colin grew up in the town of Manchester, Vermont. He attended Swarthmore College, graduating with a BA in biology and English literature. His interest in systems innovation and global health led him to pursue an MD/MBA at the Geisel School of Medicine and Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. During his time there, he completed an internship with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in their global health practice area. He chose the Osler Medical Residency for the excellent clinical training offered by the firm system and ACS model. In his spare time, Colin enjoys reading, making ceramics, playing hockey, and trying to learn squash.

Also at Marist he met his now wife, Stefanie, who also played Division I lacrosse. David returned to North Carolina for medical school where he attended the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. David is interested in oncology and clinical trial research. David and his wife look forward to attending Ravens/Orioles games, trying new restaurants, and enjoying all Baltimore has to offer.

I grew in up in a small town in Connecticut and went to undergrad at Tulane University. After undergrad, I completed my Masters in Public Health in the department of Tropical Medicine at Tulane. I then moved to Philadelphia with my now fiancée to attend Temple University for medical school. Although undecided as to which clinical specialty to pursue, I'm passionate about medical education. Outside of the hospital, I love going for runs, playing chess, and going to see whatever new Spiderman movie is out. I'm so excited to be an Osler intern and find out what fun things Baltimore has to offer!

Muhammed grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Rutgers with a degree in genetics. Outside of medicine, Muhammed is a huge baseball fan and has 2 cats, Simba and Dexter. He is looking forward to attending Orioles games at Camden Yards and exploring the many restaurants in Baltimore.

She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in Biophysics and Chemistry and a master's in Bioengineering before attending Stanford School of Medicine where she was a SCPKU Digital Health Fellow, and selected to the Stanford Ventures Technology Program - prior to becoming a founding team member for a biotechnology company developing noninvasive diagnostics for lung cancer patients with limited access to academic center molecular sequencing advancements. She chose the Osler Medical Residency for the people, its clinically rigorous training and to be able to care for highly complex chronic care patients who often experience many systemic barriers to advanced care. In her free time Jennia enjoys traveling with her family and friends, as well as enjoying anything art and/or faith related.

After having moved 14 times across India and the Midwest, Harrine’s family finally decided to call Columbus, OH home when she was in the 7th grade and they haven’t left since. She kept up the tradition though - moving to Baltimore to complete her Molecular and Cellular Biology degree at Hopkins, where she also stayed two more years to work as an AmeriCorps K-3 literacy tutor and on a research project trying to teach urban Black Americans how to adopt the DASH diet to manage early CKD. She moved back to OH to attend Case Western Reserve University SOM where she also got her MS in Nutrition and continued to work on projects to improve health literacy and obesity care in her community. She is thrilled to be back in Baltimore - the city that inspired her to be a primary care provider in the first place; she is looking forward to continue learning how to treat obesity and other chronic diseases in low income and marginalized families and explore how care can be delivered at schools. When she’s not at EBMC or the hospital, you can find her working out at the Cooley Center (so sad, it’s closing!) or her apartment gym, spending way too much time at Giant and Safeway reading nutrition labels, FaceTiming her husband (who lives in Vancouver) or attending church/Bible studies both virtually and around town.

Jeff grew up in Olney, Maryland. He studied bioengineering at the University of Maryland then completed his MD and PhD at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. His PhD thesis explored the role of intestinal hormone dysfunction in the pathogenesis of colorectal cancer, the genetic basis for these changes, and new therapeutic approaches involving hormone replacement. He remains deeply interested in cancer genetics and the development of new computational and molecular technologies to prevent these diseases. Jeff has been absolutely floored by the collegiality of the Osler residents and faculty, and he is excited to begin this adventure with his amazing co-interns. In his free time, Jeff loves trying new restaurants and new board games with his wife, Hanum. Their collection of pets - Penny Lane, Eleanor Rigby, Walrus, and Father McKenzie - are always available for therapy for the Osler residents.

She returned to Kentucky and attended medical school at the University of Kentucky where she further pursued her passion for rural, Appalachian health and health equity. She was drawn to the Osler Medical Residency for the strong positive support system among residents and leadership along with the focus on patient-centered care and bedside medicine. She taught elementary and high school-aged students. After witnessing many health inequities in her community, Lauren made the difficult decision to leave teaching and pursue a career in healthcare. She completed a post-baccalaureate at CSU Fullerton and attended UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. Lauren is looking forward to getting to know Baltimore and living on the East Coast. Karen Tachi Udoh was originally born in Erlangen, Germany before immigrating alongside her Nigerian family to the U.S. She has lived in several cities in the South and Midwest before settling in to Louisville, Kentucky for her higher education. During her undergraduate years at UofL, she spent much of her time conducting lung cancer research and working alongside local activists as a MLK and Muhammad Ali scholar. Prior to matriculating into medical school, she was a Fulbright Scholar in Greece where she did microbiology and cancer research. She additionally worked with local NGOs to assist with education for refugees and unaccompanied minors that arrived in Alexandroupoli. Her activism and advocacy continued on in medical school where she worked on several projects improving food insecurity in Louisville as well as starting a gun violence prevention program called Future Healers. She graduated UofL School of Medicine with a distinction in Public and Global Health. Outside of her work, Tachi loves to listen to Afrobeats/Reggaeton, enjoys cooking, painting and making compilation videos on social media. She is eager to explore the diverse culture here in Baltimore, especially the food!
