Macular Degeneration Center

Read more about macular degeneration

The Wilmer Institute is committed to helping patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and other macular degenerative diseases, through laboratory and clinical research and by improving the lifestyle of patients who are currently afflicted with these diseases. This has led to the organization of the Macular Degeneration Center at the Wilmer Institute which provides a multidisciplinary approach in which scientists and clinicians with many different types of expertise, work together toward the common goal of developing new treatments for macular degenerations. In addition to helping patients with AMD in the future by developing new treatments, it is the goal of the Center to provide support right now through our newsletter, support groups, and patient oriented meetings.
