Macular Degeneration Center

The Wilmer Eye Institute is committed to helping patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and other macular degenerative diseases, through laboratory and clinical research and by improving the lifestyle of patients who are currently afflicted with these diseases. This has led to the organization of the Macular Degeneration Center, which provides a multidisciplinary approach in which scientists and clinicians with many different types of expertise, work together toward the common goal of developing new treatments for macular degeneration. In addition to helping patients with AMD into the future by developing new treatments, it is the goal of the Center to provide additional support through our newsletter, support groups, and patient-oriented meetings.
