The Wilmer Pediatric Eye Disease Center

Pediatric Eye Disease Physicians

"Children aren’t just small adults. Diseases are really different in them, and they need to be managed differently. Having more people at Wilmer with this as their career focus advances the research we can do…and the care we can provide. We’re developing new ways for the whole world to treat eye disease in children."
— Peter J. McDonnell, M.D., Chairman & Director of the Wilmer Eye Institute

Vision problems in children can range from the simple to the complex, and Wilmer now has specialists on staff - the largest team in the Institute's history - to address the full spectrum. Our specialties include treatment of congenital and pediatric cataracts, strabismus & amblyopia, retinal disease, corneal disease, glaucoma, and refractive errors; and the practice of pediatric neuro-ophthalmology and oculoplastic/reconstructive surgery in babies and children.
