August 19, 2014

Christopher Brady

Dr. Christopher Brady, M.D., an assistant professor of ophthalmology in Wilmer's Retina Division, was the recipient of the 2014 Retina Fellows Forum Research Award. The award recognizes the top research paper presented at the Retina Fellows Forum, an annual conference for retina fellows from across North America. Dr. Brady's paper, titled "Rapid Grading of Fundus Photos for Diabetic Retinopathy Using Crowdsourcing," reflects his research interests in telemedicine and how new technologies can improve patient care in ophthalmology. As this year's award recipient, Dr. Brady had the honor of presenting his research at the American Society of Retina Specialists annual meeting on August 9.

Dr. Brady recently completed a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases at Wills Eye Institute in Philadelphia and joined the Wilmer faculty in July. He sees patients at Wilmer's Johns Hopkins Hospital and Bethesda locations.
