Dr. Fernando Arevalo Receives Retina Society Award

Fernando Arevalo, M.D.

Dr. Fernando Arevalo, adjunct professor of ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute and chief of the vitreoretinal division of King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH), Wilmer's affiliate hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, received the 2013 Rhett Buckler Award at the American Society of Retina Specialists' (ASRS) 31st Annual Meeting in Toronto last week. The award recognizes the best video on surgical complications management. Dr. Arevalo and his team from the Pan-American Collaborative Retina Study Group developed a teaching video on managing bleeding during pars plana vitrectomy.
