Dr. Alan Wilder, O.D., serves as a clinical associate practicing optometry at the Wilmer Eye Institute in East Baltimore as well as the Institute's satellite locations at Wyman Park Medical Center, Odenton, and Green Spring Station; thereby providing optometric care through the world-leading Wilmer Eye Institute from Baltimore to Ann Arundel County. An experienced primary care optometrist for 30 years, Dr. Wilder has been working at Wilmer providing clinical care since 1999. His clinical expertise with patients of ages 5 though seniors includes performing comprehensive eye exams; soft and gas permeable contacts from simple spherical or astigmatic lenses to multifocal disposable contacts; assistance in the referral and management of glaucoma, diabetes, and cataract patients. He is a member of the American, Maryland, and National Optometric Associations. Dr. Wilder, a native Baltimorean, received his optometric training at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN and has practiced in Maryland since 1980.
