Kai Sun

Mr. Sun is a Research Associate at the Wilmer Eye Institute. He has master's degrees in both Computer Science and Biostatistics from the University of Iowa (2003) and the University of Texas School of Public Health (2006), respectively. He worked in private industry at Westat, Inc. prior to joining Wilmer in 2006.

Mr. Sun works with Dr. Richard Semba's research team and provides statistical expertise in study design, analytical approaches to the data, data selection and validation, statistical analyses, interpretation of data and input into manuscripts and reports. He has made significant contributions to the research, and has co-authored more than 70 scientific publications. He is also the biostatistician for a working group on nutrition established by Dr. Semba and his colleagues at the United Nations World Food Programme. Mr. Sun’s specific research interest in biostatistics is in handling informative missing data in survival analyses and competing risk problems.
