Dr. Rivera is a surgeon in the Division of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Rivera is fellowship-trained in both Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. She specializes in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the eyelids and face, eye socket and tear drainage system, including congenital defects, tumors, tear duct problems, injuries and aging changes; as well as non-surgical options such as Botox® and fillers.
Dr. Rivera graduated with honors from the National University of Trujillo School of Medicine, in Trujillo, Peru. Following her internship and residency training in ophthalmology, she spent a year as Staff Ophthalmologist aboard the ORBIS’ Flying Eye Hospital, doing humanitarian work in Africa and Asia. Then, Dr. Rivera went onto completing subspecialty training in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus in Dalhousie University in Canada and in Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive and Orbital Surgery at the University of Cincinnati, University Hospital and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Dr. Rivera sees patients at the Wilmer Eye Institute's Johns Hopkins Hospital and Bel Air locations.
