Jack Prince, O.D. is a clinical associate at the Wilmer Eye Institute. He specializes in routine comprehensive eye care for children, adults, and seniors. In addition to prescribing spectacle and contact lens prescriptions, Dr. Prince is skilled at diagnosing eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration. Patients with visual complaints or gradually decreased vision of an unknown cause are seen. His clinic often serves as an entry point for determining which patients need which specific Wilmer sub specialist for medical or surgical eye care. Dr. Prince also co-manages glaucoma and cataract patients with specialists.
Dr. Prince obtained his optometric education at the University of Alabama in Birmingham and graduated with honors. He completed the State University of New York College of Optometry’s curriculum in Ocular Diagnosis and Therapy. With over 25 years of experience providing primary eye care and fitting most types of contact lenses, Dr. Prince has extensive experience working with children and has provided geriatric eye care in several retirement and nursing home facilities. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Prince teaches clinical skills and lectures on ocular disease at Johns Hopkins.
