Vanessa Lima, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Johns Hopkins University Wilmer Eye Institute. A comprehensive ophthalmologist, Dr. Lima manages a wide range of common medical eye disease including diabetes, glaucoma, dry eye, and cataracts. Since completing additional fellowship training in oculoplastics and orbital surgery, she has particular expertise in eyelid and tear duct disease. Dr. Lima has a special interest in researching floppy eyelid syndrome. She also enjoys volunteer opportunities to give back to the community.
Dr. Lima completed medical training at the University of Maryland, followed by a medical internship at York Hospital. She returned to the University of Maryland for ophthalmology residency before completing a fellowship in oculoplastics and orbital disease at the University of Adelaide in Australia. Dr. Lima has been a board-certified ophthalmologist since 2008 when she joined the Wilmer faculty.
