Lori Latowski Grover, O.D.
Dr. Lori Grover has specialized in vision impairment and rehabilitation for over 18 years. She is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Wilmer Eye Institute, Lions Vision Research and Rehabilitation Center and practices in the Department of Vision Rehabilitation. She is pursuing a PhD in Health Services Research and Policy at The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Grover is the Principle Investigator on a five-year NEI-funded research project entitled “A Model Transdisciplinary Health Care Team for Low Vision Rehabilitation”. Dr. Grover has established private and hospital-based practices since graduating from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1990, most recently in Scottsdale and Mesa, AZ and also served as the Director of the Vision Rehabilitation Service at the Foundation for Blind Children in Phoenix. She is Chair of the American Optometric Association's Low Vision Rehabilitation Section (AOA LVRS) Executive Council, a member of the Arizona Optometric Association Board of Trustees and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry where she is a Diplomate Candidate in Public Health. Dr. Grover has held leadership positions in four AOA affiliate state associations. Dr. Grover was the 2006 recipient of the Don Aldrich Advocacy Award from the Mayor of Phoenix and Commission on Disability Issues and was recently elected to the National Academies of Practice. She remains an active consultant for state and local agencies, third party funding sources and commissions on vision rehabilitation policy, is a frequent lecturer and is an internationally recognized speaker in vision rehabilitation. Her research interests include rehabilitation team service delivery models for care, evidence-based practice and the economics of vision rehabilitation. Dr. Grover shares her time between Baltimore and Scottsdale, AZ where she lives with her husband, Michael L. Grover, DO, Vice Chair of Family Medicine at the Mayo Clinic-Scottsdale, and daughter, Kate.
