Richard T. Corea, O.D. is a Clinical Associate in the Wilmer Eye Institute's Optometry & Contact Lens Service. His areas of expertise include comprehensive eye exams, treatment of conditions and disease of the eye, contact lens fitting, pre- and post-operative management of laser vision correction, cataracts, glaucoma, oculoplastics, and ocular laser treatment.
Dr. Corea earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana and his Doctorate of Optometry from The Ohio State University, in Columbus, Ohio. He received post-graduate training in the treatment and management of ocular disease from Indiana University, in Bloomington, Indiana.
He was in private practice in Indiana for 15 years before joining the Parris-Castoro Eye Care Center in 1990. Today, the Parris-Castoro practice is a member of the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medicine.
In addition to his primary eye care duties, Dr. Corea serves as an adjunct faculty member for the Center for International Studies at Salus University in Philadelphia, and in this capacity has lectured extensively throughout Europe and Asia to eye care practitioners.
