Research Integrity Training Available

Sheila Garrity, Director of Research Integrity, is available to present at departmental meetings on the subject of Research Integrity/Responsible Conduct of Research. Do You Need to Disclose?: Do a Self Assessment Today

Full disclosure of all outside activities and services is a vital component in preserving academic and scientific integrity, complying with internal and federal regulations, and ensuring that faculty and staff's primary commitment is to the University and its mission.

All full-time, part-time, and adjunct faculty, medical students, and staff are required to disclose any outside activity or service.

If you can answer YES to the question below then you must disclose your outside activity on eOPC located at https://e-opc.jhmi.edu. eOPC is the School of Medicine's electronic disclosure system for conflict of commitment and conflict of interest.

Self Assessment Question:

Are you currently involved in any outside activity with an entity that includes one or more of the following roles, interests or relationships?

  • Consulting/SAB
  • Speaker/Speakers Bureau
  • Expert Witness/Medical-legal consulting
  • BOD/Officer/Manager
  • Founder
  • License Agreement (in negotiation or executed)
  • Equity owner or investor (not including mutual funds)

You do NOT need to disclose the following:

  • Research sponsored by a company in which you have no other role, interest, or relationship (see list above)
  • CME activities for accredited CME providers
  • Professional activities such as academic journals, publications, or conferences
  • Community service with religious institutions, schools, and clubs
