Submitting Consulting Agreements and Renewals
to the Office of Policy Coordination
Proposals to engage in outside consulting
activity must be reviewed in advance by the Office of Policy Coordination
(OPC). The process involves a detailed review of written agreements to
ensure they comply with School of Medicine and University policies. Faculty
and staff who wish to consult for outside organizations should be aware
of the following procedures.
- New consulting and
scientific advisory board agreements and renewals of such agreements
should be submitted to OPC as early as possible and at least three
(3) weeks before services are to be provided.
- Written consulting
agreements involving "one-time" meetings (e.g., one day) should
be submitted to OPC at least five (5) business days prior to
the meeting.
- A complete Private
Agreement Disclosure Form (PADF) must be submitted with each written
agreement at the time the agreement is submitted for review by OPC.
The PADF is available online at: http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/faculty_staff/
policies/facultypolicies/private_agreements.html.
- Observing these timelines will allow OPC to
provide efficient service to those submitting consulting agreements.
A template consulting agreement, available at the above URL, may
be used to help expedite the review process. Please be reminded that
if you choose to use this template, you still
are required to submit the agreement to OPC for review and approval.
Additional information on procedures for submitting
private agreements to OPC is also available at the above URL.
