RESEARCH COMPLIANCE - Back

OPC Changes Review Procedures on Outside Activity

School of Medicine and University policies require that faculty and staff submit private written agreements involving outside activity (for example, proposed consulting agreements) to the Office of Policy Coordination (OPC) for prior review and approval. In an effort to improve the efficiency of agreement processing, OPC is changing its review procedures. The new procedures are available online at: www.hopkinsmedicine.
org/research/consulting.html

Under the new procedures, OPC will not begin processing an agreement until it receives the following items:

  1. A copy of the proposed agreement and all attachments,
  2. A complete Private Agreement Disclosure Form (available online at www.hopkinsmedicine.org/research/consulting.html), and
  3. The Department Director's written approval of the activity from the standpoint of conflict of commitment. (For Department of Medicine faculty other than Division Directors, only the Division Director's approval is required.)

Additional information about agreement review procedures and consulting agreements in general is available at the same web site. If you have specific questions, please contact the Office of Policy Coordination at 410-223-1608 or ccoi@jhmi.edu. Thank you for your cooperation.
