The Louisa Gross Horwitz Prize for Biology

Lasker Medical Research Awards

Judson Daland Prize for Outstanding Achievement
in Clinical Investigation

achievement in patient-oriented research.

Keio Medical Science Prize

The Keio Medical Science Prize is awarded to researchers in recognition
of their outstanding achievements in the field of medical sciences or
life sciences in the hope that it will ultimately contribute to the peace
and prosperity of humankind.

Robert Bing Prize

Awarded every two years to young scientists (age 45 and under) who have
done outstanding work which has helped in the recognition, treatment and
cure of neurological diseases who will be encouraged by this prize to
do further research.

Alton Ochsner Award Relating Smoking and Health

Presented to one or more clinical and/or basic science investigators for
outstanding and exemplary original scientific investigations that relate
tobacco consumption and health.

Japan Prize

Category changes yearly. In 2009, the health category is, "Technological
integration of medical science and engineering" and the prize will
be awarded to a scientist who made outstanding achievements in the field
of medical genomics and genetics, including establishment of fundamental
principle for genetic/genomic analysis, construction of basic infrastructure
like genetic maps and genomic sequences, and development of essential
technologies.
Amount of award: 50 million yen
