The Rhoda and Bernard Sarnat International Award in Mental Health is awarded
annually to individuals, groups, or organizations for outstanding achievement
in improving mental health services, research, or public policy. The aim
of the Sarnat Award is to recognize contributions to improve understanding
or treatment for mental disorders (basic biomedical or clinical research);
innovations in mental health services (counseling, clinical care, prevention,
amelioration of symptoms, or promotion of mental health); or public policy
change that fosters science or improves mental health services.
