New Version of eIRB Application Released

A new version of the eIRB application was released on May 7, 2007. The main new features include:

  • A streamlined application with skip patterns, allowing investigators to answer only the questions applicable to their project.
  • A format that makes it easier to locate pertinent questions.
  • A substantially shorter application for researchers who submit exempt research projects for review.
  • Additional help guidance for application questions.

This is the first step in a series of changes to improve the eIRB application, including the Further Study Actions. You will notice some minor changes to the FSA screens now, with more changes coming later this year.

We anticipate that some issues will arise during the transition, but IRB staff are prepared to assist you. If you need help with your application, please call the IRB office at 410-955-3008 or e-mail jhmeirb@jhmi.edu.
