Improvements to eIRB New Research Applications The JHM IRB has revised and improved the eIRB new research application, which will be available in late April. Similar to popular electronic tax preparation systems, the revised application will improve the "smart form" process that presents only sections relevant to a particular study. It will also improve the quality of the data provided and better capture information required by federal regulations, state law, institutional policies and the JHMIRB.Some features of the new application include an enhanced page design and access to comprehensive help information. The pages have been formatted to remove visual clutter by displaying only the questions that pertain to the type of study being submitted and access to guidance and technical assistance has been moved to icons. Information from existing eIRB applications will be automatically transferred to the revised application format and cross references for questions will be provided.
