HUMAN SUBJECTS RESEARCH - Back

Course on Research Ethics (C.O.R.E.) - Last chance for PIs

All PIs of human subjects protocols were required to complete the Course on Research Ethics (C.O.R.E.) training by June 30th, 2006. This deadline was extended until October 1, 2006 and two additional training sessions were scheduled to accommodate PIs who had not taken the course. PIs who have not completed C.O.R.E. must enroll in the September 27 session to avoid interruption of their studies.

Registration for C.O.R.E. is handled by the Office of Continuing Medical Education (CME). Registrations must be received 10 days prior to the course. To register, please visit CME's C.O.R.E. webpage at: http://www.hopkinscme.net/CORE.html.

All other faculty who participate in clinical research should complete C.O.R.E. as soon as possible. Fellows who participate in clinical research must complete C.O.R.E. training before completing their fellowship. In addition, completion of both the morning and afternoon sessions of C.O.R.E. fulfills Kirschstein-NRSA responsible conduct of research training requirements.

Protocol Deviations Guidelines

Information has been posted on what to do when you depart (without prior IRB approval) from specific protocol procedures. Check out these guidelines here: http://irb.jhmi.edu/Guidelines/protocoldeviations.html
