HUMAN SUBJECTS RESEARCH - Back

Registration of Clinical Trials Policy

In part, the policy states that all clinical trials conducted by JHUSOM faculty shall be registered with a trial registry electronically searchable and accessible to the public at no charge. The preferred site for registration is maintained by the National Library of Medicine (the website address as of 2006 is http://www.clinicaltrials.gov). The definition of a clinical trial for purposes of this policy is "Any research project that prospectively assigns human subjects to intervention and comparison groups to study the cause-and-effect relationship between a medical intervention and a health outcome."
