Clinical and Translational Science Awards Efforts

Daniel Ford, MD, MPH, Vice Dean for Clinical Investigation at the School of Medicine, is leading the organization in responding to the NIH RFA identified as the Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA). This RFA is part of the NIH Roadmap Strategy to transform how clinical research is conducted in academic medical centers. The grant will combine the current GCRCs on the Broadway and Bayview campuses, the institutional K awards for clinical research training, and additional funds into a single entity. Nine working groups with representatives from multiple departments and schools are developing the strategy for combining the existing strengths related to clinical research at Johns Hopkins into a more integrated, comprehensive structure that will improve our efficiency and productivity in bringing new information and technologies to the public.
