HUMAN SUBJECTS RESEARCH - Back

New Director of Research Coordinator Education

Dr. Hayden "Bud" Braine has accepted the position of Director of Research Coordinator Education, effective July 1, 2003. He will lead educational efforts for research coordinators in the School of Medicine. Research coordinators are a critical part of our research infrastructure. In his new role, Bud will work with leadership in the School of Nursing to provide coordinators with the most recent information related to the conduct of research and opportunities for continuing professional development.

In this role, Bud will have the advantage of his tremendous experience as a leader in the Department of Oncology and his distinguished service as an IRB chair. In order to devote time to this new and important responsibility, Bud will unfortunately have to step down as chair of IRB 4. All of us are grateful for his contributions and leadership of IRB 4, especially given the difficult time of the last 2 years. His will be big shoes to fill but we are committed to recruiting additional oncology expertise to the IRBs.
