GRANT AND CONTRACT PROCEDURES- Back

COEUS Conversion Training

COEUS Conversion and Required Departmental Staff Training. To complete the University-wide COEUS conversion, School of Medicine grant applications and contract proposals will begin using the COEUS Institute Proposal instead of the e Information Sheet (eIS) as the proposal cover sheet, effective for all applications and proposals submitted after October 1, 2009.

Also effective October 1, 2009, grant applications that are eligible for electronic submission to Grants.gov via COEUS system2system submission (i.e.,all mandatory electronic application forms are available through COEUS) must use COEUS exclusively for submission to Grants.gov. If a form is mandatory but not available, the proposal is not eligible for COEUS s2s submission to Grants.gov. and should therefore be submitted using the appropriate forms for the particular sponsor opportunity.

Departments are urged to convert their grant processes to COEUS ASAP, but in no event later than for proposals due on or after October 1st, 2009.

In order to prepare for these COEUS transitions, training dates have been scheduled beginning July 7, 2009 for all departmental staff not already trained in COEUS. To schedule a training time, please send a list of individuals who need to be trained and three preferred dates for each person to rreese@jhmi.edu. Each trainee must be scheduled; these are not drop-in sessions. All training will be held in the 1830 Building, 9th floor conference room. Class size is limited to 8 students unless individuals have a laptop computer to use.
