Clarifications Regarding SNAP and eSNAP
Signature Delegation
1. Those individuals who have been given authority
to sign eSNAP applications are authorized and responsible to sign paper
R- and K- applications in the SNAP format as well.
2. The new signature authority for SNAP and eSNAP
continuations is has been delegated to specific individuals, rather
than to divisions and/or departments as a whole. If the delegated individuals
are not available to sign, then the application must be signed by the
Office of Research Administration.
3. Those individuals who completed eSNAP
training and were not delegated authority to sign for the institution
either did not have sufficient experience in processing non-competitive
applications or had not yet demonstrated review accuracy skills sufficient
for institutional approval. Future accuracy in SNAP review will qualify
those individuals for institutional approval.
