GRANT AND CONTRACT PROCEDURES- Back

NIH COMMONS

Effective June 1, investigators wishing to request first-time no-cost extensions for federal grants subject to the "Federal Demonstration Project (FDP)" and "Expanded Authorities" may now do so by sending a completed Information Sheet to the Office of Research Administration (ORA). ORA staff will then place the request using the NIH COMMONS. Request the no-cost extension under the "Comments" section of the Information Sheet, and be sure that the grant number and extension dates are accurate. Check your latest Notice of Grant Award to verify that your grant qualifies for this kind of automatic extension. Remember that agency approval must be requested for any further extensions by means of a detailed, written letter countersigned by the Sr. Sponsored Projects Specialist for your department.
