Ellison Medical Foundation Senior Scholar
Award in Aging 2007 LETTER OF INTENT DEADLINE: Thursday, March 8, 2007 The Ellison Medical Foundation supports biomedical research (which includes basic biology, basic biomedicine and epidemiology) on aging. The Ellison Medical Foundation Senior Scholar program funds established investigators conducting research in the basic biological and basic biomedical sciences relevant to understanding aging processes and age-related diseases and disabilities.Awards will be made for up to $150,000 per year for up to four years. RESPONSE NEEDED BY Monday, March 12, 2007 The Burroughs Wellcome Fund (BWF) Career Awards at the Scientific Interface Program supports physical and computational scientists entering the biological sciences who are dedicated to academic research. This program provides $500,000 over five years to support up to two years of advanced postdoctoral study and the first three years of a faculty appointment. BWF encourages nominations of women and members of under represented minority groups. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, statistics, or engineering and have completed 6 months but not more than 48 months of postdoctoral research at the time of application. Candidates can not hold or have accepted a faculty appointment as a tenure track assistant professor at the time of application. Therefore, an internal peer review to select the nominees will be managed through the Provost's Office.
