HHMI-NIBIB Med into Grad Initiative: Integrating Medical Knowledge into Graduate Education Program

Letter of Intent/Internal Deadline: April 20, 2005

The Howard Hughes Medical Institute has announced a competition for four-year grants totaling $400,000 to $1,000,000 to support educational programs that incorporate the knowledge and skills of medicine and pathobiology into graduate education. The goal of the program "is to train biomedical scientists who are better prepared to translate the discoveries of basic biological science into the treatment of human diseases."

There is no limit on the number of interested parties from any one university who can register an intention to apply, however, institutions may serve as the primary institution on only two submitted proposals. Therefore, interested applicants must send copies of letters of intent to Grace Bigelow at graceb@jhu.edu, by April 20, 2005, so that the Provost's office may determine if an internal review is necessary.

The full program announcement is posted at http://hhmi.org/grants/institutions/
