To protect the health of employees, the Animal Care and Use Committee in collaboration with Health Safety and Environment and Research Animal Resources have developed a new cage card for identifying animals that have been exposed to potentially hazardous materials. These cards are available from Research Animal Resources staff in the facility where your animal are housed. We will be monitoring that these cards are being used for animals that have been exposed to potentially hazardous materials. The Animal Care and Use Committee would like to remind principal investigators that all individuals working with animals must be listed on an approved protocol. Only individuals listed on an approved animal use protocol will be granted access to the central animal facilities operated by Research Animal Resources. To add an individual to a protocol download and complete the personnel amendment form located at http://www.jhu.edu/animalcare/forms1.html.
