Animal Research Protocols

To avoid delays in funding for new and competing NIH grants that involve use of animals, submit new protocols or amendments to existing protocols to the Animal Care and Use Committee as soon as you determine your score is in a fundable range. Seminar Series

This month's IACUC seminar will discuss“Safety for Animal Users.” The seminar will be held in Ross 403 on Thursday, May 27, 2004 at 12 noon. A "Rodent Handling" class will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2004 in Ross 450 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Pre-registration is required for the Rodent Handling class. Class size is limited to 10 people. CAAT and Research and Resources are sponsoring a seminar "Why every (behavioral) scientist should care about animal welfare: abnormal repetitive behavior and brain function in captive animals" presented by Dr. Joseph Garner, UC Davis on Thursday, May 6, 2004 at 4:00 PM in Room W1030, Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Drs. James Owiny and Alan Goldberg will discuss "Enhancing Humane Science - Improving Animal Research" on Wednesday May 12, 2004 at 12 noon in Room W3030, Bloomberg School of Public Health. Please preview the materials at http://oac.med.
