ANIMAL RESEARCH - Back

Preparation for AAALAC

In preparation for a March site visit from the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC), faculty, staff and postdocs who conduct animal-based research should plan to attend the following seminars:

  • “The PHS Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals.” This seminar will cover the government-academic partnerships for animal based research. Speaker: Dr. Nelson Garnett, Director, Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare, NIH. Thursday, January 15, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in Tilghman Room, Turner Building.
  • “AAALAC -- What are the Expectations?” Speaker: Dr. James Owiny, Training and Compliance Administrator, IACUC. Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in Tilghman Room, Turner Building.
