2017 Summer Junior Volunteer Program

Thank you for your interest in The Johns Hopkins Hospital Summer Junior Volunteer Program. This year the program begins on Friday, June 23, 2017 and ends Friday, August 11, 2017.  That is seven weeks of discovery in an administrative, lab, or patient and family centered care position within the Hospital!

In order to be considered for the program, you will need to complete an online application that includes a Parental Consent Form and then schedule a screening interview. You must submit your application before scheduling an interview with Volunteer Services.  All screening interviews for the Summer Junior Volunteer Program must be scheduled by Friday, March 31, 2017.  Your final step in the application process will be to complete a short essay and get two recommendation forms completed by a teacher, coach or mentor. You must bring your essay along with the two recommendation forms in a sealed and signed envelope to your interview. Please be mindful that there will be a selection process as we cannot accept every student who applies to the program.

Summer Junior Volunteer screening interviews will take place Friday, April 7, 2017 through Tuesday, May 2, 2017. Applicants will be asked to schedule and attend a second interview by Friday, May 12, 2017 if he/she is invited to advance in the screening process. After completing two successful interviews, an applicant's eligibility for the Summer Junior Volunteer Program will be determined. If an applicant is accepted, an e-mail will be sent by Friday, May 19, 2017. All students accepted into the Summer Junior Volunteer Program must attend a mandatory orientation on Friday, June 23, 2017.

As stated previously, applicants will be notified by e-mail if a second interview should be scheduled. Please ensure that your e-mail address is written legibly on your application. Also, remember the application deadline date of Friday, March 31, 2017.
