Rose Mary "Roe" Gall, R.N., B.S.N.

What is your job title?

Wait List Coordinator / ON CALL Coordinator

What is your job?

I work as a member of the wait list team (including the transplant surgeons, nephrologists, and the ON CALL Team) to help maintain current clinical testing for all listed kidney or kidney/pancreas pts. I also cover the evaluation clinic at Johns Hopkins- Bayview and ON CALL when I'm needed.

When did you start working at Johns Hopkins?

2001

When did you start working in transplantation?

2001

Why do you work with transplant patients?

I have an extensive background in dialysis and have seen what kidney disease can do to patients and their families. It’s an honor to be able to work with a team that can offer an alternative to dialysis, thus giving folks a chance at improving their quality of life in so many ways.

What is your education?

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Maryland Medical Center.

What else do you want people to know about you?

I am President-elect of the Chesapeake Chapter of the International Transplant Nurses Society. I still actively work hemodialysis on weekends, and I volunteer for the National Kidney Foundation at community outreaches. I've also been nominated for the Johns Hopkins Department of Surgery “Nurse of the Year” award.
