Jennifer Kerney

What is your job title?

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Liver Transplantation

What is your job?

I manage and coordinate the care of liver transplant patients from transplant to discharge. Working very closely with liver transplant surgeons, I review labs and radiology tests, order medications, and prepare patients for discharge. I also coordinate the multidisciplinary process that goes into every liver transplant patient’s hospitalization.

When did you start working at Johns Hopkins?

When did you start working in transplantation?

Why do you work with transplant patients?

I enjoy working in transplant because the field continues to evolve, the patients continue to inspire, and the colleagues continue to amaze.

What is your education?

I completed the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program and received a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in 2008. Prior to that, I received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in 2004 and had previously received a Bachelor of Arts degree at Connecticut College (Go Camels!) in 1990.
