April 29, 2008 –   Hear from living donors from the kidney program about their experiences pre and post surgery.  7pm, Cader Room/Harvey 508, Johns Hopkins Hospital.

May 3, 2008 - Annual Patient Conference.  Presented by Hopkins staff and guest speakers.  8am - 3pm, Holiday Inn, Timonium, MD.  (Details on the program and how to register for the event will be mailed to patients and available on this website in March.)

July 22, 2008Patient Seminar: “Multi-Organ Patient Panel”  - Hear from patients from the heart, lung, liver, kidney and pancreas groups about their experiences pre and post transplant.  7pm, Cader Room/Harvey 508, Johns Hopkins Hospital. Register Here!

About the Heart Transplant Foundation (HTF) and HTF Events:

The Heart Transplant Foundation (HTF) is an independent patient-run organization.  HTF meets to provide support and camaraderie for heart transplant patients.  For more information, call Mrs. Myra Fine at:  410-526-6577.  Below are the HTF meetings for 2008.

FEB. 11TH

MEETING WILL BE AT 7:30PM, 5TH FLOOR, CADER ROOM AT JHH. OUR SPEAKER, JULIE HOUP, WILL TALK ABOUT HOW TISSUE TYPING IS DONE.

MARCH 10TH

7:30PM, 5TH FLOOR,CADER ROOM AT JHH. OUR, SPEAKER, DR. MARC HALUSHKA, IS CURRENTY AN ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PATHOGY IN THE JHH SCHOOL OF MEDICINE. HIS AREAS OF EXPERTISE ARE CARDIOVASCULAR AND AUTOPOSY PATHOLOGY. HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DETERMINING THE DEGREE OF CARDIAC REJECTION IN HEART TRANSPLANT RECIPIENT BIOPSIES. HE ALSO PERFORMS BASIC SCIENCE RESEARCH IN DIABETIC VASCULAR DISEASE.

APRIL 14TH

7:30PM, 5TH FLOOR, CADER ROOM AT JHH. OUR SPEAKER, DR. WILLIAM BALDWIN III, WILL SPEAK ABOUT IMMUNOLOGY IN TRANSPLANT RECIPIENTS

MAY 12TH

7:30PM, 5TH FLOOR, CADER ROOM AT JHH. OUT SPEAKER, MARIANNE KELLY, WILL TALK ABOUT LOOKING GOOD AND FEELING GOOD. SHE IS THE FOUNDER OF THE IMAGE RECOVER CENTER AT JHH AND OTHER LOCATIONS

JUNE 28TH

THERE WILL BE A HEART TRANSPLANT PICNIC AT PATAPSCO STATE PARK, PICKALL AREA, NUMBER 708. IT STARTS AT 12:00 UNTIL 4 OR 5PM.
