Comprehensive Transplant Center
 

The Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Transplant Center officially started the NIH sponsored trial to study transplantation in HIV positive patients, October 2005.

The two main criteria for HIV positive kidney and liver transplant candidates are: (1) Viral load has to be undetectable via the ultrasensitive test; (2) For kidney candidates, the CD4 count has to be above 200, and liver candidates, the CD4 count has to be above 100.
