Patients awaiting liver transplant often want to feel like they are accomplishing something to help move them closer to the day of transplant. While awaiting transplantation:
This most important job you can do is to make sure you get your bloodwork done on a regular basis so that your MELD score is always up to date (see sidebar to the right).
But it can also help to participate in activities with other members of the liver transplant community, such as the Liver Run/Walk and the transplant seminars held at Johns Hopkins. (See calendar of events on back cover of this newsletter issue for more details.)
