It is the transplant team’s goal for you to feel well enough to enjoy many of the activities in your life; this includes returning to work.
When you return to work will depend on many factors, including the type of work you do, your work environment and your course of recovery.
You may want to consider the following:
¨ Do you work where there may be an increase chance of infection, e.g., daycare setting?
¨ Will you be exposed to unusual germs, including molds and fungi, e.g., working with flowers?
¨ Will you be traveling with your job?
¨ How much stamina will your job require of you?
You will need to be realistic about allowing for changes in your course of recovery. These may alter your plans for returning to work.
We will be more than happy to help you with any necessary paperwork you need to return to work.
And, as with any life style changes, you will need to discuss returning to work with your transplant team.
