Meet The New Staff That Have Joined the Comprehensive Transplant Center
![]() | Miguel Tan, MD, MSc., FRCSC Dr. Tan joined theCTC as a surgeon in the kidney/pancreas transplant program in December 2005. He brings extensive clinical experience to his role at Hopkins, having trained for over ten years at McGill University and the McGill Royal Victoria Hospital Research Institute. Most recently, he comes to Hopkins from a transplant surgery fellowship at University of Minnesota. His clinical and research interests include pancreas and islet cell transplantation, kidney transplantation, clinical immunosuppression, steroid free protocols, and novel immunosuppressive agents. Caroline Bodner Caroline Bodner, CRNP joined the Acute Care Service in the Comprehensive Transplant Center in November 2005. She obtained her ACNP from the Georgetown University School of Nursing in Washington, DC and her BSN from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. Caroline says, "I became involved in Transplant surgery because I enjoy the challenge of assisting our patients through the transplant process. It is exciting to see them progress and |

| Michelle Felix In 1993 Michelle received her BSN from Johns Hopkins University SON and in 1995 received her MSN JHU SON. From 1985-1995 Michelle worked with Pediatrics Oncology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital Children’s Center and from early 1998 to mid 1999 she worked as a Traveling nurse on various assignments. Pediatric NP Primary Care has been Michelle’s focus since 1995. Michelle came to the Children’s Center Pediatric Emergency Department at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 2004. Michelle said, "I became involved in transplant because I love being in the academic medicine environment, it’s a great place to use all I’ve learned in both the primary care setting and specialty nursing environment, plus I’m learning all about the different solid organ transplants." |

Barbara Bober, RN, BS Barbara began working at Johns Hopkins as a clinical nursing student on Halsted 5. She obtained her BS degree from Towson State University. After graduation, Barbara entered her nursing career at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Medical Oncology. With the exception of a 6 month travel assignment to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, Barbara’s entire nursing career has been at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Barbara has many years of clinical experience in a variety of patient care settings: per diem in Surgical Float Pool (in patient and out patient clinic and procedural areas), Surgical Intensive Care and was most recently working as an advanced nurse clinician (a nurse clinician "2E") in the Cardiovascular Diagnostic Interventional Lab. Upon joining the CTC, Barb commented, "I am privileged to be working with a group of professionals whose focus is to provide people with a second chance at living. I am excited to be a part of all the Lung Transplantation program has to offer." |
