Appointments: (410) 955-6875 I am a registered nurse with over 35 years of nursing experience. I have a masters’ degree in health systems management. My nursing experience includes staff nurse in critical care including intensive care and coronary care nursing, and staff nurse in pediatrics and medical/surgical nursing. I was also a clinical manager of an intensive/coronary care unit and of a medical surgical unit that was responsible for ambulatory peritoneal dialysis initiation for patients. In 2004, I came to the Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Transplant Center and assumed the position of Vascular Access coordinator. In this role, I assisted the surgeons in managing patients with end stage renal disease that needed access procedures in order for them to initiate dialysis. At the end of 2006, I was appointed to the position of dedicated nurse coordinator for our kidney living donors. I truly believe that live donors are selfless, and sincerely desire to improve the quality of life of their recipients; in many cases it means not having to spend three days a week in a dialysis center, and in fact donation does save lives. These donors are true heroes and it is my pleasure to follow-up any issues they might have post donation. |
