WAYS OF GIVING

There are many areas in which the Department of Surgery is making major contributions in the diagnosis and management of surgical diseases.

These include pediatric and adult cardiac disease; alimentary tract diseases, such as pancreatic cancer; vascular disease in particular the management of thoracoabdominal aneurysms; pediatric surgical diseases including liver and kidney transplantations; transplantation of solid organs in adults; reconstructive and plastic procedures; and in the management of all malignant diseases. For over 100 years surgeons at the Johns Hopkins Hospital have been in the forefront of research and treatment of surgical diseases and sharing their expertise as they train the next generation of surgeons.

Much of this research is made possible by private support. With your help, we can continue to make major strides in advancing our research. Your contribution can be made in support of the Department of Surgery or can be restricted to benefit the work of a specific surgeon or a specific Division within the Department of Surgery (please check the drop-down list at the top-left of this page to visit our divisions).

Gifts to the Department of Surgery can be made in many ways and for a variety of purposes. Some individuals help create endowments, which last in perpetuity and may be named in honor of the donor(s), or the surgeon to whom it is pledged. Others provide immediate support for research, training or new equipment. Support may be made through an outright gift, a pledge payable over a period of years, a life-income gift, such as a charitable remainder trust or annuity, or a bequest. Gifts may be made in the form of cash, appreciated securities, real estate, or personal property.

If you would like to make a cash contribution, please make your check payable to Johns Hopkins University and enclose a note indicating how you would like your gift directed. If you would like your contribution made in honor or memory of another, please provide their name and a contact address of the appropriate party so we may inform them of your generosity. Please send your gift to the Department of Surgery at the address listed below.
