Theodore Neofytos Tsangaris, M.D., received his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at the George Washington University Medical Center, where he was Chief Resident. Dr. Tsangaris received a fellowship in surgical oncology of the breast at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Tsangaris served as Assistant Professor of Surgery at he Buffalo Medical School of the State University of New York and as Associate Chief and Chief of the Department of Breast Surgery at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo. He was Assistant Professor of Surgery and Director of the Breast Care Center at the George Washington University Medical Center and Associate Professor of Surgery at the Georgetown University Medical Center and he also served as Chief of Breast Surgery. Dr. Tsangaris served as a visiting surgical consultant in the Saudi-United States University Project of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He is also a member of the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project and American College of Surgeons Oncology Group. Currently, Dr. Tsangaris serves as Associate Professor of Surgery, Chief of Breast Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology and Director of the Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Breast Center, Sidney Kimmel
Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins, Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Tsangaris has authored or co-authored numerous articles and abstracts in journals such as Pathology Case Reviews, Surgical Oncology, Radiology, and Breast Disease. His researchm interests include prevention of breast cancer, tumor markers, sentinel lymph node as well as other surgical procedures in the treatment of breast cancer.
