Dr. Sawaya is a Assistant Professor in the Dept of Pediatric Surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore MD. He completed his medical school at The Louisiana State University in New Orleans followed by his General Surgery training at The Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport LA. Dr. Sawaya practiced as an Attending General Surgeon in Opelousas, Louisiana for the next five years gaining a great deal of surgical experience in a rural setting. He returned to an academic setting to fulfill the desire to devote his life to the care of children and completed The Pediatric Surgery Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Maryland. His future interests are the care of critically injured pediatric trauma patients, the care of newborns with congenital anomalies, as well as congenital chest wall deformities.
