G. Satyanarayan Bhat, Ph.D., assistant professor of surgery at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, earned a master degree in biochemistry at Karnataka University in India as well as a doctorate in biochemistry and microbiology at Poona University, also located in India. He completed a post-doctoral Fellowship in endogenous modulation of cochlear injury at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.
Before joining the division of surgery at Johns Hopkins Bayview, Bhat took part in several worldwide research projects. He has lent his expertise to research studies in biochemistry, microbiology, chemical burn disease and pain management.
