Helina Somervell graduated with a Diploma of Applied Science from Avondale College, Sydney, Australia in 1990. She completed her Bachelor of Science at Colombia Union College, Takoma Park, MD in 1997.She completed her Master of Science in Advanced Practice Nursing from the Johns Hopkins University in 2001and is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has been working at the Johns Hopkins Hospital since 1993 and joined the Department of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine surgery in 2001. Ms. Somervell is a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland and Sigma Theta Tau, International Nursing Honor Society.
