Message from the Medical Director

Thank you for your interest in the Suburban Hospital Breast Center. Whether you are looking for a high-quality imaging center for your routine mammogram or considering the Breast Center for treatment, we want you to learn about us. This site will provide you with information about our programs and capabilities, reasons that so many women choose the Suburban Hospital Breast Center.

Our comprehensive Breast Center's recent certification by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) distinguishes Suburban Hospital as the first fully accredited hospital in Montgomery County.

NAPBC accreditation is only given to breast centers committed to providing the highest level of quality breast care. All accredited breast cancer centers undergo a rigorous evaluation process and performance review to qualify. Suburban Hospital Breast Center is proud to offer our patients significant advantages in their fight against breast disease.

You will also learn about our comprehensive services, state-of-the-art technology, patient support and much more.

Our multidisciplinary team of experts, which specializes in the evaluation and management of breast disease, provides patients with outstanding individualized and compassionate care in a comfortable setting.

The majority of services offered throughout the course of care are conveniently located in the Johns Hopkins Health Care and Surgery Center at 6420 Rockledge Dr. in Bethesda. These include outpatient surgery, radiology services, radiation oncology and visits with surgeons and other specialists. Inpatient services are provided at Suburban Hospital. We are fortunate to have one of the most experienced and comprehensive centers in the area. Additionally, we are able to offer patients access to participation in clinical trials that study new approaches and treatments for cancer and for cancer prevention for high-risk patients.

Facing cancer is daunting. Our Nurse Navigators understand this very well. They help ease the way by providing resources and guidance for everything from appointment scheduling and insurance questions to helping with transportation and childcare, so our patients can focus on their treatment and healing.

I am proud of the level and quality of comprehensive care we provide to our patients at the Suburban Hospital Breast Center. I personally invite you to write to us with any questions that you have after reviewing this website. We will assist you in any way as you make your decision about where to go for care. Please email any questions to Jamie Borns, our nurse navigator, at
